In 2011 I started my journey into becoming a firefighter by joining the Elmwood Fire Department. At first, the desire to become a firefighter was to continue a family tradition, and joining would make three generations. I soon learned that I wasn’t doing it just for my own family, but I would also be blessed to gain more brothers and sisters within the department. My fire family grew in January 2020 when I joined my second department, The Durand Fire Department. I was elected to the WSFA Board of Directors in 2022. I am excited to be able to continue this part of my journey with my fellow Firefighter Jeff Krisik, along with the rest of the board and all of the members of this great association. One of my main goals on the board is to increase membership and participation in the fire service with our younger generations.
I completed Entry Level Fire and Fire I while attending college at CVTC. At the Elmwood Fire Department, I take on the role of being very involved with everything possible. While I do not have a title on my helmet I am a firm believer it takes every one of us. I enjoy spending time at the fire hall helping set up training, assisting with our social media page, and completing tasks as needed. Being on two departments allows for a lot of training opportunities and ideas bouncing between departments. Being an active member of two departments, making all trainings and meetings is something I take great pride in.
My wife Cabrina and I have two children (Colt 2 and Remi 2 months). We are a very busy family! In our spare time we love to spend time camping, hunting, going on trips, and being outdoors. Without all of their love and support none of this would be possible. As Colt grows older, he loves to go to the fire hall with Dad and that has pushed me even harder. I cannot wait for my kids to carry on our family tradition someday. I want to be the best leader and supporter I can be for Wisconsin Firefighters, I also want to leave this fire service in a better place than I found it.
